FAQ
What is Dreamfield?
Dreamfield is a marketplace allowing athletes to profit from their Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) rights by booking events such as personal appearances, virtual meetings, autographs, and much more! Our commitment to you is to provide a safe and secure way to exchange products, secure bookings and introduce new ideas that uniquely represent you so that you may be rewarded for the fruits of your labor.
What are NIL rights?
Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) rights are three elements that make up a legal concept known as “right of publicity.” Right of publicity involves those situations where permission is required of a person to use their name, image or likeness. For example, no permission is required for a newspaper to publish a photo of an athlete playing in a game. The legal copyright would belong to the photographer, not the person pictured. What does Dreamfield do for athletes?
Dreamfield will allow athletes to harness the power of their stardom and the interest of their fanbase to build their personal brand and monetize their hard work and success! Athletes will be able to accept booking requests for various types of events, apply to participate in Campaigns designed by businesses, and engage with their fans in a manner similar to the best social media platforms!
How soon can I transact?
You may transact once the NIL laws for the state in which your institution is located allows for it. Our platform recognizes your school’s location and once NIL laws go into effect, Dreamfield will go live and you can start receiving bookings.
Why can’t athletes book events before July 1st?
In order to protect a collegiate athlete’s eligibility and due to unclear guidance by the NCAA, we have decided to not allow any future bookings of events to occur until your particular state’s laws are active. In Florida and a few other states, that date is July 1st. Make sure to check your state’s laws to be sure when their NIL law goes into effect.
What can I do with an invite and how can I get one?
Invites are given by other athletes who are already Dreamfield members. Receiving an invite means you can also register with Dreamfield, and if approved, create your own Athlete Portal and begin building your brand, accepting bookings, and engaging with your fans!
Who can create an account with Dreamfield?
Early on, only collegiate athletes who receive an invite from another collegiate athlete will be able to create a Dreamfield account. In the near future, creating an account will be open to all collegiate athletes who meet the requirements for joining our community.
Why do we ask for personal information?
Your identity and reputation are the most important things you have as a public person, and these days it can be easy for a bad actor to try to ruin both of them. We gather these pieces of personal information to establish that you are who you say you are, thus keeping others from pretending to be you on our platform. Agreements done through the platform are legally binding as well and in order to be considered valid, some of the information we collect is necessary for that reason. Not only does it keep you and your reputation safe, it helps our clients feel safe in the knowledge of who you are booking for events, which will lead to more opportunities for all our athletes!
How do we protect and secure your information?
Our data is stored and processed within a facility that has achieved the highest level of ISO and SOC rating. We strongly believe in ethical practices when receiving user information, and we retain only the information needed to provide you with opportunities through our marketplace. Outside of visible business practices, we will never steal, redistribute, or unethically process personal information.
